Get Transformed for Christmas on Black Friday! I haven't had much luck with Amazon's pre-order system so far, but I'm going to try it one last time to release the holiday-themed book in the bestselling Transformed series: The overall story should be pretty familiar, as there are probably a billion different versions of A Christmas Carol by now. In this case, Edward Scrouge is a greedy businessman putting profits before people.

Then on Christmas Eve night, the ghost of his former busin. If you ever wanted to sample some of my pseudonym Eric Filler's bestselling prose, now is the time! Over the last couple of weeks I've been looking for a job in the Phoenix area. It's really the first time I've been seriously looking for a job in about 13 years. It occurs to me there are a lot of similarities between job hunting and trying to get a book published. The first thing that struck me is that employers have a lot of hoops you have to jump through just as agents and publishers make you jump through hoops.

Some of the hoops now are even pretty similar. Part Eight -- "Give me something to believe in. Where other types, when asked why they did something, may say, "I don't know," the intellectuals can almost always tell you exactly why they made the d. I still haven't heard the original, but this version is loaded with Star Wars references and costumers from the st Legion.

It's worth a listen. Last year was the first time I ever did it officially.

I wrote the conclusion of the Girl Power trilogy, League of Evil that month. It was much more than 50, words. Fast forward to this year. I'm not doing it this time around because the projects I'm working on are not going to be 50, words. But if I were doing it, hey,.

I have a small favor to ask that has nothing to do with my road trip. It's probably something I should have asked about months ago, but I never got around to it. Anyway, if you reviewed the original version of A Hero's Journey Tales of the Scarlet Knight 1 published by Solstice Publishing in Could you copy your review over to the newer version, published by Planet 99 Publishing ie me?

There are only two reviews on the new version and one is. Pratchett is a British author primarily known for his Discworld series of humorous fantasy books. He's also written some other books like the sci-fi series The Long Earth. A Slip of the Keyboard compiles articles, letters, and speeches throughout the author's nearly 50 years in the literary industry.

Much of the early material especially is of value to writers of any genre, no. Part Seven -- "I'm watching you. Enneagram types 5, 6, and 7 make up the intellectual triad of the Enneagram. Speaking of which, my new thing is out! Actually, it's two things. Two novelettes about the same character and his cat. I posted an excerpt from it quite a while back on a different site, so I'll give you that same taste in a moment. I'd call this new story whimsical. A Reiteration and a Preface. Because there seems to be some confusion on this point, let me go back over the basis of the Enneagram again. As a personality system, the Enneagram deals with primary motivations not behaviors. It is different from other personality profiling systems in that, because virtually every other personality system out there is based off of the Myers-Briggs to some extent, and it is a behavior based system.

Yes, behaviors can change, especially over time and with maturity. With Halloween and the Day of the Dead coming up, I thought it would be a good time to talk about the dead, or specifically, customs and beliefs about the afterlife. I talked briefly about Navajo beliefs last week. However, that's only one culture. If you want to read about a variety of afterlife beliefs, I recommend Terri Bruce's Afterlife series.

They therefore wanted to show technology as being less advanced than what we see in the films. So you've got things like lightsabers needing to be connected to battery packs early on in order to work. This effects every aspect of the story, because everything in it looks older and more primitive. The creators for Knights of the Old Republic threw that idea out, leading to their stories looking just like the films, if not even more advanced than the earliest films in some cases.

I'm not saying that either group of creators is right or wrong, but it is something notable about the volume. Personally, I enjoy the artwork here specifically because it looks so different from what i'll see in other Star Wars comics and the stories that accompany it are great as well.

I really cannot praise this collection enough, because it's more than just a comic that tells you an exciting story. There's plenty of excitement, but there is also a ton of history as well that goes along with it. Jedi, Sith, the Republic and how it developed, chances are that you're going to be just as fascinated by the stories characters themselves are telling as you are with the characters fighting and throwing around unique Force abilities.

This is the definitive Star Wars Omnibus and the perfect representation of what can be accomplished with the series outside of the films and cartoons. One person found this helpful. This Omnibus compiles stories related to some of the core Lore of the Old Republic. The art styles used, do not match the visual aesthetic most Star Wars fans are accustom too. This is due to the illustrators seeking to craft the look of a more ancient time, and olden the look and feel of technology.

Likewise, these stories were being crafted during an especially busy period, when lore and early Republic history was being fleshed out rapidly, by numerous projects and creatives. The discontinuity is easily put aside however, as the stories are excellent, and they advance much which the larger Star Wars legendarium is now based. Of all the Omnibus editions, I would rate this highest, and most important to buy first.

Where others feel like classic comic book adventures, with characters we already know, this one feels more like an illustrated history. In the case of the first two, much of the pre-history, and events after this Omnibus are detailed. Most copies I've encountered in-store, have been leaf eared and a bit dirty. I will admit to having read the entire thing in a store before finally buying it.

This book rates high among those I would recommend as part of an essential Star Wars library. On one hand, his is the logical starting place for anyone looking to get into Star Wars graphic novels. However, the protagonists through most of the book are bumbling fools, while the main characters are Sith. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase.
