Ah, the devious wench. Ty is revealed as one of he marriage-minded townspeople although he himself will never marry.
The Rebel Cowboy's Quadruplets by Tina Leonard
Ty will kidnap Daisy, Mackenzie will take her place, and Justin, despite his injured knee, will win the race. No doubt due to her inappropriate choices of garments while riding. The plan is executed. Daisy escapes and forces Mackenzie to the end of the other fork, which is not the one Justin is going to end up at.
Except, of course, there are all these untidy loose ends, because, gotta have sequel bait. I gave it a D- because some parts were so bad they made me laugh. Had they made me curse, it would have been an F. Mar 06, Amanda Siegrist rated it it was ok. I wanted to like this book, and I did in the beginning but then it just kept jumping from scene to scene without a page break and it would confuse me what was going on. I liked the characters, I just got frustrated how the story was presented.
True love conquers all Justin comes to Bridesmaids Creek to help Mackenzie as a ranch foreman after his friend tricked him into it. Justin quickly falls for the single mother of quads and high jinks occur as the residents all get involved. Romantic and funny at times. May 18, Anne Holly rated it liked it. This was an okay read, if you like short ranch romances, though it does fall into the "quirky small town" pitfall pretty hard - in fact, this book was more about the town, and its forced "magic," than about the couple, which bored me a little, to be honest.
It all felt more gimmicky than real, complete with a Capraesque Rich Boss Daddy Bad Guy and his little tart hench-daughter, who even had her own motorcycle gang?! And who allows their "worst enemy" enjoy an open door policy to the kitchen, This was an okay read, if you like short ranch romances, though it does fall into the "quirky small town" pitfall pretty hard - in fact, this book was more about the town, and its forced "magic," than about the couple, which bored me a little, to be honest.
And who allows their "worst enemy" enjoy an open door policy to the kitchen, and then hands them a baby to burp, as if it's all great fun? You really don't have to allow people you hate into your home. You really don't, even if you're a "nice girl" in a "nice town. We also don't see why Justin is a "rebel," but are just told he is, constantly. The ranch hands act like jerks, but we're told they are "good workers" never seen working and generally upstanding guys, though we have no reason to believe it. Suz is "tough," but she never exists outside the ranch, really. MacKenzie is, well, "a mom," and the babies are mostly lumps that get fed once a chapter.
Every character is given some sort of category, but we're more told than shown, so it doesn't really help at all. The babies were mere props, but I liked her little sister, who clearly stood out as the most compelling character. Ty was just a meddling weirdo, though, so let's hope they don't end up falling for each other. Hope she doesn't fall for the meathead hands, either.
While I read this through, and found it a passable diversion, I am left wondering what the heck is going on with the story view spoiler [- several plans of actions were raised and then lost what happened to the random goat farming thing? I remain unconvinced that a hokey haunted house thing will save the ranch - a haunted house we read about for like pages, but never see, or even find people working on, at all likely because it was too ridiculous to even commit to paper - so, I'm not sure how the "resolution" actually resolved anything.
Last time I checked, you don't suddenly become solvent because you get married. And what happened to the fire vision? Did I miss it? Or the plan to defeat Daisy by bringing her on board? Too many things mentioned, saluted by characters, and then never mentioned again. It wasn't all bad, though. As I say, it was pleasant enough, and the leads were nice people. Most of all, though there was plenty of sexist man-hunting stuff in here, the relationships were refreshingly free of he-man-woman-hating BS, and the hero seemed to truly respect the heroine, her decisions, and her abilities.
I am so grateful for romances that are able to treat grown women like adult humans, and this book left me feeling okay there. This made me appreciate the heroine more, and made the hero that much more romantic - because he wasn't a woman-hating alph-hole cowboy of yesterday's HQ. I don't plan on reading the series, though my enjoyment levels might? Mar 26, April Symes rated it really liked it. This is the beginning of a new Tina Leonard series called Bridesmaids Creek.
Mackenzie is looking for a ranch foreman to help out on her ranch, not a baby daddy to help her out since she has 4 new babies. Bull Rider Justin has left the rodeo and his friend Ty asked him to come to town and help out Mackenzie since she is a divorced single parent now to her quadruplet babies. Justin shows up to lend a hand and is great at everything he does. Mackenzie falls for him but knows sooner or later he will leave, going back to the rodeo.
We see how Mackenzie and Justin trying to keep their hearts intact yet want to get together. There is such an emotional pull to this story. After everything Mackenzie went thru, she deserves some happiness and with Justin, you want to see them get their HEA. Do they get that? I hope to see a book about them in the future.

When he gets to the Hanging H he meets Mackenzie Hawthorne. She invites him in to discuss a job r This was such a cute story and I loved it. She invites him in to discuss a job running the ranch for her. He hears a baby cry and then another and another. He goes to investigate and see four babies. Mackenzie had quadruplets, all girls and then her worthless husband ran away with someone else and wanted nothing to do with them.
She was really on her own and needing help. Her ranch had a lot of things that needed done. The babies names were, Heather, Hope, Holly, and Haven. Two of them had some health issues and Justin couldn't believe that the father would just leave them all behind.
